Dr. Sander's Sleep Cure
An insomniac turns to "Dr. Sander’s Sleep Cure" tape, leading to bizarre nightmares. Each dream awakens him to another "scientifically proven" suggestion. Unearthly characters from his dreams materialize in reality. After several dreams, a sudden phone call reveals he himself is the hapless Dr. Sander, who overslept for a crucial meeting with his first insomnia patient. This patient, a character from his dreams, grapples with the opposite problem - an inability to stay awake for even a minute.
In this film, the writer-director Mart Sander himself portrays no less than 48 different characters, thus breaking the previous Guinness World Record in the category ‘Most Roles Played By a Single Actor In a Film”.
Dr. Sander’s Sleep Cure, a nuanced reflection of Sander’s personal battle with sleep disorders, is born out of his doctoral research on manipulating audiences through conflicting audiovisual information.
